Inauguration of Swire Digital Centre’s new office

30/08/2022

The Swire Digital Centre (SDC) office was formally opened with a traditional inauguration ceremony on 25th July. In attendance were Nithin Menon (Regional Head, South Asia, and Middle East), Eleana Choy (Chief People Officer), Ben Hadfield (Head of Digital Products), Hazelle Ke (Senior People Business Partner), Jeremy Sutton (Managing Director) as well as the team of the Swire Digital Centre (SDC) in Bangalore.

Our teams were in traditional Indian costume for the ceremony, which opened with ribbon cutting followed by lighting of the traditional oil lamp – part of an offering to bring auspiciousness, good health, and prosperity to the office.

The event also included various dances and a special performance to a devotional song offering a tribute to Goddess Durga, one of the most powerful Indian goddesses, and a popular classical Indian dance, Bharata Natyam.

SDC was started in April 2019 to provide multi-functional support to Swire Shipping in the areas of digital development, business processes and technology services to support and strengthen our growth across all of Swire Shipping.

In three years, SDC has grown rapidly in size and in the scope of functional support that it provides – from just a handful of workstations to a full office with close to 100 employees – and today, it is poised to expand the services offered across our network.

(L-R): Paresh Mahulkar (Head of Commercial), Jeremy Sutton (then Chief Operating Officer and Director of SDC), Eleana Choy (Chief People Officer), Nithin Menon (Regional Head, South Asia & Middle East and Director of SDC), Hazelle Ke (Senior People Business Partner), and Ben Hadfield (Head of Digital Products)
