CNCo owns a diverse fleet of container, multipurpose, general cargo and dry bulk ships to service its global trades. These owned vessels are supplemented by chartered in vessels on a mixture of short, medium and long term charters to meet the requirements of CNCo’s liner business – Swire Shipping – and handysize business – Swire Bulk. Swire Shipping has taken delivery of eight 31,000 deadweight (dwt) ton multipurpose vessels (“S” Class) built by CNCo at Ouhua Shipyard. These vessels are deployed in Swire Shipping’s multipurpose liner trades alongside a further 16 owned vessels. The owned multipurpose fleet will increase by a further four 22,000 dwt ton multipurpose vessels (“Chief Class”) in 2015. To supplement this, CNCo charters vessels in from the market, maintaining a balance between chartered and owned vessels. Swire Bulk was established in early 2012 following an order for four 39,500 dwt ton (“B.Delta39”) handysize bulk carriers. These “W Class” vessels were delivered in 2013/14. Further orders have been placed for twenty 39,500 dwt ton (“B.Delta39”) and four 37,655 dwt ton (“Imabari38”). All vessels, excluding the “W Class”, are log-fitted handysize bulk carriers and will be delivered between 2014 and 2016. All twenty four B.Delta39s and four Imabari38s, will be deployed by Swire Bulk. The owned fleet will be supplemented by a chartered fleet of primarily Japanese built handysize bulkcarriers on long term (5 year +) charters. In addition to vessels deployed in core operating divisions, CNCo has interests in 2 x 2100 teu secondhand container vessels and 4 x 1700 teu newbuilding container vessels through its shareholding in Mandarin Shipping Ltd.
